The
Founder

Kamichi Jackson is the author of You're Too Much, Reggie Brown (2001), the six-story book in which she introduced the lovable 9-year-old character, her loving family, and her close friends and schoolmates in their Baltimore community.

A longtime bookworm who first discovered her love of reading as a child in the stacks of the South Norwalk Public Library (Norwalk, CT) and the classrooms of Brookside Elementary School (Norwalk, CT), Kamichi is an advocate of any activity or program that encourages children — especially those of underserved communities and school systems — to both lose and find themselves in the pages of good books.

Kamichi is also the author of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award semi-finalist Young Adult book K My Name Is Kendra, the ebook Where Present Meets Past, several unpublished manuscripts, two unproduced movie scripts, and one unproduced movie treatment..

Jackson resides with loving family in Winterville, North Carolina.

ReggieBrownReads.com is the author's brainchild—her corner of the internet where she will, in the context of the Reggie characters's world, produce fun stories and activities that align with the important work educators already do, that encourage children to read on their own simply for the fun of it, and that ultimately help further the goal of childhood literacy. The site is aimed at classrooms, homeschools, community centers, individual readers, and organizations around the country.

Jackson's plans for the program and the website include free and paid-access content featuring new Reggie stories and downloadable reading comprehension worksheets, activities, coloring pages, and more -- plus the exciting spring re-release of You're Too Much, Reggie Brown!
